Kona Grill-Oak Brook, IL

Kona Grill in Oak Brook offers an exotic twist on American Cuisine with influences that come from the Pacific. They have Lifestyle Menu that includes gluten free options. There are many gluten free options to choose from.  Some of the options include the Kona Chopped Salad, the Big Kahuna Cheeseburger without a bun, Kona Filet, Grilled Salmon and Grilled Chicken and a variety of Sushi and Sashimi dishes.  They even have a gluten free dessert which is a Passion Fruit Creme Brulee which includes passion fruit infused custard. We have been to this location several times and while the food is very good we have had an issue with them every time.  I know we kept going back but we had dreams of grandeur that they would get it together because we really liked the menu but it did not happen. Their management and staff are not very educated in food allergies.  We were always on top of how our orders were prepared but each time they screwed it up.  This is definitely a place that if you choose to go you need to be on top of your server and manager and how the food is prepared.  They would have random people bring you your order that didn’t have a clue as to what they were serving you.  One time the server came out running and said it was not gluten free. That was the LAST time we were there.  In our opinion there is no food that is that good  and worth it to get sick on. Our rating is 4.7.
